MOBILE SALES CLERK
POSITION: MOBILE SALES CLERK, NF-2091-02
SALARY: $10.43 an hour
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: FLEXIBLE-A flexible employee is one who serves in either a continuing or temporary (time limited) position, on a scheduled or unscheduled (as needed or intermittent) basis, up to 40 hours per week. Flexible employees are not eligible to participate in the CNIC benefit programs, nor are they entitled to earn or use leave including military leave, court leave, sick or annual leave.
SCHEDULE: A rotating schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays.
LOCATION: SPINZ, Bowling Center Snack Bar, MWR Department, Naval Station Mayport, Florida
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: ALL SOURCES
BASIC DUTIES: Provides mobile snack bar service to military and civilian personnel that do not have access to a food service facility. Operates a mobile canteen unit and sells a variety of fast food items and a limited variety of retail items such as cigarettes, gum, and candy. Loads food service canteen truck with food and beverages. Drives to various locations, according to a previously established schedule and route, ensuring that prescribed routes are followed and that scheduled stops are made on a timely basis. Observes safety and traffic requirements and regulations. May prepare requisitions for supplies, equipment and daily resale and consumable items, keeps supplies neatly displayed and stowed; maintains adequate stock at all times. Maintains inventory and operating records and required reports. Serves customers, collects money, makes change, and is responsible for own change fund. Prepares Daily Salesperson's Cash Report. Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of one year of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the work of the position. Knowledge and understanding of food service policies and procedures. Basic knowledge of business mathematics, and cash handling Must be able to communicated clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing in English. A valid driver’s license is required and must be maintained. A pre-employment physical.

2. Military Spouse Preference (MSP): Qualifying spouses eligible for MSP are spouses of an active duty military member of the U.S. Armed Forces, including members of the National Guard or Reserves on active duty. The marriage must have occurred before the military member received official permanent change of station (PCS) orders to the installation listed above. MSP is applicable only when applying for NAF positions at the NF-03 and below and equivalent craft and trade (CT) positions.
To claim this preference, you MUST:
- Submit sponsor’s PCS orders to installation you are applying for; AND
- If you are not indicated as a spouse on the PCS orders, you MUST submit proof of marriage prior to PCS.
3. Veteran’s Preference/Gold Star Veteran's Preference: Qualifying military veterans, and spouses/parents of deceased veterans shall be given employment preference over non-preference applicants if they are equally qualified. Preference applicable for positions open to external candidates.
To claim Veteran's preference, you MUST:
- Submit a copy of your DD-214 (member 4 copy); AND
- Submit completed SF15 from the Veterans Administration (VA); AND
- Submit any other supporting documentation (disability, official statements, proof of service, etc.)
- To claim Gold Star Veteran's preference, you MUST:
- Submit completed SF-15 from the Veterans Administration (VA); AND
- Submit a legible copy of DD-1300; AND
- Submit any other supporting documentation (official statements, document of service, court decree, etc.).
