Congratulations on considering Naval Station Mayport as your “Port of Choice!” Moving can be stressful, but planning ahead can make your move to Jacksonville easier. Below, is a list of suggested things to assist in your planning:

• When you receive your orders, make an appointment with the Personal Property Office at your current duty station. They can explain the different shipping options you have and ease some of the headaches of moving
   
• To secure a place for your family to stay for the first few days, make reservations in advance. Naval Station Mayport hosts a Navy Lodge which can be reached by calling 904-247-3964. The Navy Getaways Program operated by MWR Mayport hosts two RV Parks and three Cabins which can be reserved by calling 904-270-7808
   
• All personnel transferring to Naval Station Mayport are encouraged to contact the local Housing Service Center, NS Mayport Homes, by calling 904-270-5738 prior to making any off-base commitments
   
• To ensure a smooth transition for school-aged children, contact the MWR Mayport School Liaison (SL) at 904-270-6289, ext. 1305. The SL serves as the primary link between schools, commanders and military families
