RECREATION AIDE (OUTDOOR ADVENTURES)

LOCATION: Outdoor Adventures Branch, Community Activities Division, Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department, Naval Station, Mayport, Florida. 

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: A flexible employee is one who serves in either a continuing or temporary (time limited) position, on a scheduled or unscheduled (as needed or intermittent) basis, up to 40 hours per week.  Flexible employees are not eligible to participate in the CNIC benefit programs, nor are they entitled to earn or use leave including military leave, court leave, sick or annual leave.

WORK SCHEDULE: Averaging 0-29 hours per week.  A rotating schedule to include weekends.

DUTIES: Incumbent sells retail items, accepts reservations for equipment and issues rental items such as yard tools; picnic, beach, swimming, hunting and camping equipment; boats, motors, trailers; fishing reels and rods, scuba equipment and other related equipment to authorized patrons. Operates a cash register and completes cash receipt report and deposits cash. Assists patrons with loading and unloading of rental equipment. Issues prepared safety precautions concerning the operation of various pieces of equipment. Fills propane gas tanks and air fills on scuba tanks for patrons. Receives rental items being returned; visually inspects them for obvious damage and completeness. Cleans and returns items to proper storage area. Performs as a team member or individually during preparations, operations, dismantling and clean-up for functions, general daily cleaning and up keep of the grounds and bathhouses located in various parks, pavilions and beaches. Performs general facility housekeeping duties and operate household type washer and dryer. 

QUALIFICATIONS: Must pass a pre-employment physical examination. A valid driver’s license is required at all times. Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds repetitively during the course of a workday. Work is performed both indoors as well as outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Work experience in a related recreational activity. Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing and have basic knowledge of mathematics. Previous work experience as a cashier is helpful. Ability to learn and to apply policies, rules and regulations. 

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
*Employment is contingent on the successful completion of a National Agency Check.
*Employment in positions requiring pre-employment physical examinations is contingent on passing the physical examination.
*Direct Deposit of your paycheck is mandatory and is a condition of employment.
