RECREATION AIDE (BINGO PROGRAM)

LOCATION: Bingo Program, Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department, NAVSTA Mayport, Florida
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: A flexible employee is one who serves in either a continuing or temporary (time limited) position, on a scheduled or unscheduled (as needed or intermittent) basis, up to 40 hours per week. Flexible employees are not eligible to participate in the CNIC benefit programs, nor are they entitled to earn or use leave including military leave, court leave, sick or annual leave.
WORK SCHEDULE: Averages 29 hours per week and schedule may include a rotation of days, nights, weekends, and holidays
DUTIES: Sets up and stores bingo program supplies and equipment. Responsible for “bank fund” issued for cash purposes. Ensures only authorized patrons play Sells bingo cards, bingo computers and other bingo supplies. Receives payment by cash, check or credit card and accounts for all sales by using a cash register. Explains game rules to patrons, calls bingo games and verifies for valid winning bingo cards.
QUALIFICATION: Employment will be subject to completion of a National Agency Checks with favorable results. Incumbent must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted. Must be able to differentiate between colors and shades of colors. A clear, interesting voice is necessary. Ability to read and carry out written instructions and follow oral instructions. Demonstrated knowledge of bingo and/or bingo equipment. Demonstrated ability to handle cash and sell bingo cards. Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with persons of divergent backgrounds, to include telephone and face-to-face contact.
