Mayport Freedom Fest 2023 FAQs

As NAVSTA Mayport and our community partners prepare to celebrate Freedom Fest activities, we are providing information and guidance to ensure a great event. Here is an FAQ of main questions for attendees.

Q: Is Freedom Fest really “FREE”?

A: YES! The concert and all carnival events are free. However, food and drink will be available for purchase.  

Q: Who can attend Freedom Fest?

A: All DoD ID cardholders are invited to attend. This is not an open base event. If you have any questions about sponsoring guests, please call Pass & ID at (904) 270-5656

Q: What time are Fireworks and where should we watch them at?

A: Fireworks will be at 930pm. Beach access will be closed after the concert is over, so we suggest going to watch them behind the Sea Otter Pavilion.

Q: Do we have to register to attend?
A: No. Registration is not required.

Q: Is seating available?

A: We recommend bringing your own chairs and blankets. The event is taking place in a grassy area.

Q: Will there be a dress code at the event?
A: This is an outdoor event in summer so dress comfortably. However, festive patriotic attire is encouraged! Please remember this will be a family friendly atmosphere.

Q: Is Parking available?

A: Yes. There is limited parking at the Beacon Bldg. 245. Once that lot is full, we ask participants to park at the public parking structure on Bailey Ave. Please follow directional event signs upon entering the Main Gate.

Q: Will I need cash?
A: Drink ticket sales are credit card friendly. However most food vendors will only take cash. We recommend carrying both.

Q: Will alcohol be served?
A: Yes, and we want all guests to have a great time. Event bar sales will end promptly at 2045. Please drink responsibly.

Q: What about strollers and diaper bags for those with small children?
A: Strollers will be allowed for caretakers of small children. The same applies to diaper bags long as they are not in exceedance of the 12"x 6"x 12" dimensions. Subject to security screening on site.

Q: Will restrooms be available at the event?
A: Yes, and the locations will be identified on the event map.

Q: What is not permitted at the event?
A: Pets, coolers, glass bottles, containers, backpacks, contraband (including box cutters or other sharp objects) are STRICTLY PROHIBITED. No outside food and drink permitted on site. No Fireworks. Please do not interact with any wildlife. If you see any turtles please contact security.

Q: Anything else?
A: Yes. Please use caution while driving around Mayport. There will be increased traffic and parked vehicles outside of the installation. We hope you have a great Freedom Fest!
